Why do diets fail me?

Many people don't understand why their dieting attempts fail repeatedly, how to maintain their preferred size, and deal with cravings and bad habits. Let's talk about how we can reach out and help others ... by reaching out to others, we are really teaching ourselves. It's clear to me, that like most people who've spend a life-time being chubby or obese, I have unlimited storage capacity and I'm amazed how quickly my body can slip into the fat-storing. 

Picture it this way:
  • My body sends the signal to my brain that my cells need fuel, I feel hunger.
  • I eat a fast food meal cuz I'm not prepared.
  • I need more nutrients than that so my body asks for more.
  • Each of my cells was coated with a thin film of grease (when I was chubby) so the calories I was consuming couldn't get in to fuel the billions of cells in my body.
  • By the end of the day, every cell is screaming for fuel and sends signals to the brain: "Go Hunt! I've been starving all day! PS, skip the rabbit food, I want high octane and know there is ice cream in the freezer!"
  • After eating, if the calories don't get past the insulin resistant barriers (the thin layer of grease around the hungry cell), the liver kicks into gear.
  • The liver must deal with the elevated, circulating blood sugars. The liver will filter the unused energy and convert them from sugar in the blood stream to a more stable substance ... picture Crisco!
  • And, voila! The crisco like substances have to go into storage. And, we have unlimited storage capacity! The problem of high blood sugar has been solved, the sugars are converted to fat and stored every where ... from chins to belly, internal organs to arms, hips, and thighs. 
  • But, my cells still didn't get the fuel they needed, are still sending the "Go Hunt!" signals, and I'm still HUNGRY!
  • So, I can feel like I haven't eaten much but still be heavier every morning!
