Sitting in the Fire

I doubt that I'm alone in the need to face difficulties and figure out how to go forward when life gives us lemons and demands that seem impossible to meet. Or when we feel like we've been working really hard on a project or aspect of life and "it's just not happening" or turning out like we thought.

Can anyone relate to this: "My guts can really get in a knot when I feel like I'm struggling to Have enough (time, money, energy, resources ...) and my Worry Warrior begins to slip in suggesting that I'm not Being enough ..."

If you're experiencing a bit of post-holiday anxiety, there's a few things that I've found to be helpful: 

  1. Face the issues bravely and just "sit in the fire" for a period of time ... running away from fears with distractions, blaming, excesses, or entertainment may be helpful for a moment but facing the issue head on can head off long-term complications.
  2. Ask for help and take positive action to improve the situation.
  3. After facing the issues, accepting responsibility, and doing everything you can to address and resolve them, give them to the Universe ... let the Divine take on the burdens and worries.
  4. Take a step back and let the magic begin!
