As you change, so does your whole life!

This is the Park’s Story in their words:

“Before we started our journey to health we were living the typical American life. We ate very unhealthy. Our source of entertainment was centered around TV. 

We loved each other but our unhealthy habits were hurting us more then we realized. Each year we gained more and more weight and added new unhealthy habits. To make it even more painful, we were passing these same unhealthy habits onto our children. 


As we started our journey to getting healthy in body, we started working on those habits too. We started implementing the healthy habits into our family. 


Now we enjoy being active with our kids. Being at healthy weights, we can do more with them and actually enjoy it! Grace lost 100 pounds and Jon lost 40 pounds! 

We are eating healthy as a family. Many people are amazed at how our kids enjoy healthy food! We are daily improving our endurance through exercise while teaching our kids how fun and rewarding being active is.

As our bodies get healthier, our minds are getting healthier. As our minds are getting healthier, our finances are getting healthier. They all work together and are changing the dynamic of our family! We enjoy long trips
with our kids. 


We are training them up in health and teaching them long term healthy habits! We don't have that fear of them having to go through the same health struggles we went through. Thanks to this program our lives have and are still changing for the better!"

Sound familiar?? "I was done ever trying to lose weight!"


This is Craig Turner's cousin ... I love her story! It's in line with the stories I hear from clients every day!!!

"I was having fun going through some old pics today. The first pic is Matilda & me at the Tulip 
Festival in 2010. That picture was taken after I had just finished 30 days of butt-kicking workouts & starving myself ... and had lost a whopping 4 lbs in 30 days. And decided I was done ever trying to lose weight. Little did I know I was only 2 months away from changing my whole life. Next picture is me & my kiddo almost exactly 2 years later and 140 lbs less. (I'm) healthier and having a lot more fun!" 


What I love the most is that the journey to optimal health is sustainable. Greg and I have maintained our of slimmer body habits for more than five years now ... I love the freedom and vitality I feel everyday!!

Joel's Story, "It Actually Works!!!"

I love working with a Program that actually works!!! Here's Joel’s Story: 

"After more than a decade of attempting various ways to lose weight, I had yo-yo’d my way up to 223 pounds (33 BMI). Not only was my weight increasing, but I was also adding medications to treat all the symptoms of my growing number of health issues. My stress level was high and my energy level was low. I was having difficulty sleeping and I frequently strained my back doing simple everyday things. Growing up, I had witnessed this same pattern play out in my own parent’s lives. I did not want to follow the same fate. I wasn’t even 40 yet and I was looking ahead to a grim future with a waistline that kept 1 inch ahead of my age. Not only was I losing my health, I was losing my hope.

In December, 2008, this program came across my path I could instantly tell that it was different. Within a few days of starting the program, my energy level went up and I was already feeling like a new man. Within a few months, I was down 60 pounds to 163 pounds (24 BMI). I went from a tight fitting 40" waist to a loose fitting 32" waist. The best part is that all my health issues were resolved as a result of losing the weight safely and effectively. I now sleep like a baby and manage stress more effectively. This program did more for me than help me lose weight. It gave me back control over both my health and my life. My life is on a new path now and I have maintained my weight for more than 4 years. I am continuing my journey towards even greater levels of health & fitness with new goals that once seemed impossible."

Choosing to sort and get rid of the burdens?

Purging, one load at a time!
As I am welcome the promise of spring, artistic adventures, and grand-babies into my top priority activity lists, I'm finding the de-cluttering, sorting, and purging process to be incredibly freeing! This weekend I cleaned out my office and hauled out over 9 loads of recycling - old notes, files, outdated materials, and stuff, stuff stuff! 

When I had filled up the recycle bin, I asked Greg to weigh it. It weighed 100.9 pounds!! There was no way I could possibly lift it. It made me think about my weight loss / health gaining journey and the journey of many of the clients I'm working with ... most of us have been carrying a sizable burden of emotional and physical excess for many years and are now choosing to identify, sort, and discard it! It brings tears to my eyes. Congratulations! Strong Work!!!

Your determination, insight, vulnerability, and self-motivation are what keep me emotionally and spiritually engaged in this work. I'm looking forward too next week's update! Polly.

I needed to Restart!

Building new habits is like building new muscles ... You have to keep up the
good work!

This past week I heard from several people who have restarted the weight loss portion of our Program. Here are four of my favorite quotes from the last couple of days:

"I kept thinking I can do this on my own ... then I'd slide back into old habits and a couple of pounds (POUNDs of fat!) would find their way to my belly ... OK, I'm back on for a couple of weeks and am so relieved to be in fat-burning again!"

"This time, I'm doing things differently. I've set my 5 Medifast meals out each day - my wife put hers in baggie for the week - and we are having our lean and green at lunch time. I take mine to work. By the time I head home, I have two Medifast meals left for the day. I'm drinking more water and I reach for a glass whenever I feel the temptation to cheat. I'm looking forward to transitioning and maintenance, but for now, I just remind myself that I have plenty of fuel "in storage" ... besides, "NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!"  Thank you for you encouragement!"

"I have come to the conclusion that although I have done a reasonable job of maintaining my weight where it is, I am not able to lose weight on my own at this time without the help of Medifast ... I have changed the labels on my calendar to reflect my meal times and am pre-planning what I will be eating each day and recording it on the calendar.  I have saved all of the emails from the challenge in my "My Journey" file and plan to go back through them again and this time I will be able to start walking ... My mom is also being supportive and working on following her doctor given meal plan to get healthy. We are trying some new recipes that fit into both of our plans.  I am looking forward to reporting awesome results and big changes in the weeks ahead."

"I have an old scar on my forearm ... when I gain a few pounds, it pulls and hurts!!! When the excess pounds come off, it feels fine and doesn't bother me at all ... what a great reminder!!

Finally, it's almost swimsuit time!!! Like we've heard before, "NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!" (I know that's in this note already but I need to hear it and internalize it again and again!!!)

Exercise anyone? Try dancing!

Exercise ... it's a new word because, in the "Good Old Days" we were are working so hard to chase food, fetch water, build and repair shelter, and run from predators that there was no need for additional premeditated exercise!

Now for the trick Question: 
What's the best form of exercise for you?
Answer: 
One that you'll do and enjoy!

My exercise goal is to dance twice a week ... Check out this couple doing the Swing ... they look like they are having so much fun and using every muscle group! What are your goals??? Are we having fun yet???
